Training Requirements

Students hired into the Community Service Federal Work-Study Program must complete the following mandatory trainings at the time of hire:

  • Building a Safe Penn State: Reporting Child Abuse*
  • Title IX Training
  • Penn State’s Annual Compliance Training

All trainings must take place in the CSFWS Office, at the placement site, or via a CSFWS-sponsored offering in order for students to be compensated for their time.  Students must submit copies of these training certificates to the CSFWS Office via communityservicefws@psu.edu.

Community Partners may require additional trainings at their discretion.

*Penn State is committed to providing a safe environment for youth. The Building a Safe Penn State: Reporting Child Abuse training has been specifically designed for Penn State employees and volunteers to ensure all applicable policies, laws, responsibilities around reporting, and reporting protocols are understood.
