Welcome

Welcome!

As a part of the Department of Comparative Literature’s going effort to improve the professionalization of its graduate students, the Grants Mentor, along with their Research Assistant, has compiled this database to help your search for external funding. This database is navigable by the student’s academic progress to be a more effective search engine. For example, if you have completed your comprehensive exams and are ABD, look in the “Dissertation/ABD” category to find fellowships and grants available to you.

This is an ongoing work in progress as we strive to publicize grants on a monthly basis that fits a plethora of opportunities to reflect the interests of our own department. In addition, students will observe the calendar further down on the page to remind them of the upcoming deadlines. Please be mindful of the deadlines as you work towards external funding.

Due to the overwhelming number of fellowships and grants available, we ask that if you know of any funding of interest to your fellow colleagues, please inform the Grants Mentor (2018-19: Dr. Rosemary Jolly, rjj14@psu.edu; or the Research Assistant: Stephanie Lopez, sml86@psu.edu) so we may include it.

Lastly, in your ongoing search for grants, please contact the Grants Mentor to go over the process and identify the grants eligible to you and your research goals. The Grants Mentor will work with you to develop your application to increase your chances of being awarded funding.

We hope this becomes a useful and significant tool to you going forward in your research.

Sincerely,

The Penn State Department of Comparative Literature
