If it’s one thing I’ve learned after one week here at Penn State, it’s that a LOT of the words that I say at home are pronounced differently throughout not just the world, but even throughout different states. Often times, I would say a word and (because of the large amount of Pennsylvania “natives”) a majority of people would disagree with my pronunciation. So, out of curiosity and just for the fun of it, I am going to hold polls to see how the majority of people here at Penn State pronounce certain words. Starting us off, will be the way in which people pronounce the word “mayonnaise.” Now I do realize that a majority of people just say “mayo,” but if you were to say the full word, how would you pronounce it?

2. Man-naise
3. May-nnaise
4. Other
