Do you know that “flavor” and “taste” are different?
Flavor – A sensory impression of the products that is the sum of taste and aroma. It is not only determined by the smell, texture, and food, but it is also determined by the chefs’ memories and personal experiences. It contains outside influences, and it is more than just a description of food.
Taste – Any experiences that happened inside the mouth. Taste has five different types of tongue feels, they are sweet, sour, bitter, salty, and umami. Each represents different kind of tongue feels, which acts like stimulations to the tongue. Taste is just one of the senses of body.
When flavor and taste come to the topic, it is easily to think about chemistry. Food chemistry is always related to the smells, tastes, and flavor. For examples,

Even though in this post, it only shows the chemical compounds of each taste, however, the flavor is build up on this stage. So it has more complex and mixed chemical compounds inside.
One take over in this post is “flavor” is the sensory experiences on the person who is eating, while “taste” is the mouth experiences on the foods.
