Linda Belcher is the mother to all the children I have written about so far: Tina, Gene, and Louise. She is also married to Bob, so her full time job is working in the restaurant with him. In the show Linda and Gene are quite literally two peas in a pod. Linda exhibits very similar behaviors as Gene, which is why I believe she has ADHD as well.

ADHD runs in families, so it makes sense that Linda has it and her son, Gene. Linda is always going at 200 mph and can rarely do anything without being distracted. For example, there is an episode where Bob and Teddy go camping for a weekend. This leaves Linda in charge of the whole restaurant herself. The kids are downstairs in the basement making an “ice rink” in their walk-in freezer and when Linda comes down to get more ingredients for the burgers, she finds them skating around in their socks. Linda doesn’t stop this, instead she turns it into a tournament and feeds into it with the children. She gets so wrapped up in this skating game that she completely forgets that she has an open restaurant that no one is working, since she is down in the basement. Getting distracted and forgetting things are two of the major indicators of ADHD and this episode showcased both for Linda.

In a different episode, Linda decides to change her hair from black to blonde. This drastic change in appearance causes Linda to become so distracted with herself that she cannot function or even properly communicate to her family. This is because she is so distracted by the change in her life that her brain isn’t letting her process anything else. It is also common for people with ADHD to become significantly more distracted than the average person when there is change.

Linda and Gene showcase similar symptoms including the excessive and very fast talking. Linda is known for how much and how quick she can talk, with Bob often having to get her to repeat herself because he can’t keep up. Linda doesn’t stop talking either.
