My research focuses on understanding the molecular level behavior of ions at various interfaces. Here, interface is used broadly with examples such as air/water interface, and hydration shells of proteins/macromolecules. A wide variety of spectroscopic techniques are utilized in this investigation, including vibrational sum frequency spectroscopy (VSFS), attenuated total reflection (ATR) FT-IR and recently multivariate curve resolution (MCR) Raman spectroscopy, along with thermodynamic techniques.
