Meet Lily Bliss, a fourth-year supply chain and information systems major who is minoring in Spanish at the at Penn State Smeal College of Business. Lily sat down with us to answer five questions about her time at Smeal, her plans for graduation, and advice for younger students.
What are you involved in at Penn State and Smeal?
I am heavily involved in Penn State THON, and I was able to dance in THON this past February. I also am involved in Women in Business through the Smeal College of Business.
What are your plans after graduation?
This past summer I had the opportunity to be a District Manager Intern for Aldi. Following graduation this May, I will be joining Abercrombie & Fitch at their Global Home Office in Columbus, Ohio. I will be joining their Full-Time Supply Chain Leadership Development Program, which is an 18-month rotation within their supply chain. With this, I will build a diverse skill set during these rotations to support A&F’s global logistics network.
What are you most excited for in your new role?
I am excited about working with the merchandising and planning team and learning from all my peers!
What advice do you have for younger students?
If I had to give one piece of advice to younger students, it would be to go to every career fair. I found both my internship and job through the Smeal career fairs, and I am so glad I decided to go to every single one.
Why do you love supply chain?
I love supply chain because it is the backbone to every single company. Supply chain management is a very dynamic field that is constantly changing, which pushes me to problem solve and think strategically always.
