- Increasing Online Social Interaction to Reduce Mild to Moderate Depressive Symptomatology: A Randomized Controlled Trial – In this study, we are interested in whether increasing online social interaction on the social networking site (SNS) Facebook reduces mild to moderate depressive symptomatology. To increase online social interaction, participants in the experimental condition will join 3-5 Facebook groups pertaining to their hobbies and/or interests and interact with them (make 3 comments, like 1 post, and make 1 post) for 5 days each week over a two-week period. Participants in the control condition will read posts on a Facebook page created by our lab and answer questions about the posts.
