When is Curling Season?

Penn State Club Curling is a registered competitive club sport at Penn State that travels intercollegiately in the USA College Curling National Tournament. From October to February, we compete in tournaments called bonspiels to earn points that will qualify us a spot in the National Championship in March.

What are the travel opportunities?

Throughout the season, we participate in tournaments called bonspiels through the Northeast and Midwest. Bonspiels consist of 8 to 16 teams that compete in a bracket through a weekend. We also organize head-to-head events where 2-3 teams compete over a day or two. Head-to-heads are great for new curlers looking to learn in a low stakes environment. Bonspiels are more intense competitive events where we test our skills.

What are the Responsibilities?

As a Club Sport at Penn State, we are required to complete volunteering hours and attend seminars throughout the academic year. Members are also encouraged to participate in club fundraisers which help keep the cost of participating in the club accessible to everyone. Club leadership will present opportunities to fulfill these obligations regularly.
