Hello, and thanks for checking back my soccer blog!  Today, we will be looking at the team I believe is the most dominant in the world.  Before I introduce the team, I will cover my seven honorable mentions:  Manchester United, FC Porto, Ajax, Napoli, Inter Milan, Arsenal, Tottenham, and Roma.  These teams are all very talented and have proven themselves among the best in the world.

Now for my number one ranked team.  This team has been one of the best in the world throughout its entire existence.  It has one of the best histories, is in great form, and is consistently outplaying its rivals.  The most dominant soccer team is none other than FC Barcelona.Barca was founded in 1899 in Catalonia, Spain and is a member of the Spanish league.  The supporters actually have control over the organization through voting and participating in various activities for Barca.  This result in the club motto: “Més que un club” meaning “more than a club”.  This system has appeared to work as Barca is currently the fourth-richest sports team in the world at 4.06 billion.  Barca has an extremely deep history that I encourage you to read into.  As for recent history, Barca has consistently asserted itself above all of the competition.  Since the 09-10 season, Barca has won six of the nine seasons and is currently in a strong first place with 73 points over Atletico’s 62.  Rivals, Real Madrid have only won two of the last nine seasons and has struggled in competitions against Barca.  In 2015, Barca became the only team to have won the Spanish league, Copa del Rey(Spanish tournament), and the Champions League all in the same year.  This team has dominated the 2000s because of its extremely talented squad.  There are several examples of this dominant team.  In 2010, the top three finishers for the Ballon d’Or, Lionel Messi, Andres Iniesta, and Xavi, all played for Barca at the time which was an unprecedented feat.  In the 15-16 season, the attacking trio of Luis Suarez, Neymar, and Messi (shown right, same order) broke the record (after they set the season before) for most goals scored in a season by an attacking trio with 131.  These are some glimpses at Barca’s talent, and the team has only gotten better with new signings like Philippe Coutinho, Samuel Umtiti, Ousmane Dembele, and Arturo Vidal.  These additions perfectly fit in with the existing squad members Messi, Suarez, Rakitic, Serigio Busquets, Gerard Pique, and Marc ter Stegen.  This is undoubtably the best combination of ability for any squad, and they have made very obvious.  I have no doubt the team will keep this great form as it progresses in the Chamions League and future seasons.

Barca is one of the most recognizable sports teams in the world.  It possesses a deep talent pool and plenty of international trophies to back it up.  I had no doubt Barca would take my number one spot.  This list has been very fun to make, and I hope you were able to learn new things about soccer because I know I have in all my research!  Do you agree with my number one team?  Who would you say is the most dominant soccer team?  Be sure to sound off in the comments!
