Hello, my name is Samantha Riley, and as you can probably guess from the URL and the fact that you’re reading this right now, this is my project website for the DART206 course. If you’re wondering if you clicked on the page for the right student to give feedback on the work of and your assignment says Samantha Riley, you’ve come to the right place. I figured I’d better repeat my name just in case someone was a little worried about being absolutely sure they were in the right place, I know I get paranoid about details like that. I’ve created a website using PSU’s WordPress integration once before for a previous PSU course, actually, but it was entirely focused on testing the beginner basics of coding and the end result looked pretty terrible. I’ll essentially be starting from scratch with this class, and hopefully this time around I can become more familiar with WordPress as a medium and create something a little more aesthetically pleasing.
I suppose I’m always a little unsure just how much of my background teachers and fellow students really care about when reading student introductions, in this case especially so since there isn’t really an introductory prompt. The most relevant thing worth bringing up is most likely that I’m working towards a Digital Multimedia Design degree. Just 1-2 courses at a time, both because of the costs associated with college courses and the fact that I struggle with some depression and anxiety issues that I don’t want to exacerbate too heavily by overwhelming myself with course work. It does mean I still have a very long road ahead of me before I have any hope of graduating, but something is better than nothing and I’ve at least been sticking with it for a couple of years now. Introductory prompts usually ask about what hobbies I have as well, so on the off chance anyone is interested in that subject my hobbies include playing video games, drawing doodles from time to time, and most recently I’ve begun to take an interest in playing tabletop games.
