Controversy

In present headlines, all I seem to see is controversy.  People asking “How may I offend you today?”  Others wondering why humans are so cruel, senseless, or just plain rude.  If this is suddenly our national news, then I ask you, what has happened?  Where are the news anchors, writers, and reporters? Have they gone missing, or have they stopped caring about the real situations in our society?

Lately, many have been focused on how offensive heterosexual or homosexual people are.  Or how a long gone confederate flag causes people to hate.  The real situation here is people themselves.  You cannot make any other person do anything if they don’t want to.  A flag did not cause anyone to do any harm, so why rush to conclusions?  Not every single heterosexual person hates someone just because they are part of an LGBTQ community.  Everyday on Facebook and Twitter, all I see is people complaining about other people “forcing” their opinions on each other. Why?

We all need to take a step back from our lives and pause.  Think about what you’re going to say before you say it.  Yet, we all have opinions and our rights to those opinions.  We need to respect each other.  Obviously saying hateful things to someone, in no way helps the situation.  People need to focus.  We are all on the same team, we are all fighting for the same thing, our lives.  We are humans and need to stop acting like vicious animals.

To confront these situations is to put them to rest.  What has happened is done, and the only thing we can do is try to make the future more pleasant for all.  Lets work together to bring light to situations that matter.  Thanks.

  1. Really good article, I like your stance on this problem that people are confronted with everyday on the internet. The extra articles about unnecessary readings was also a good touch.
