A message from our Creator

I would like to be the first in welcoming you to the Dear Hero Program’s new website! I’m Paul and I have the pleasure of being your President for this upcoming school year. I invite you to take a look around the website, learn about our officers, what we might be up to, or just post here to tell us how much you love this great country! To start things off, I have my bio here which is also the story of how this wonderful organization was started! Thanks for taking the time to look at our website and WE here at DHP ARE excited to see you at one of our meetings!

While serving in Afghanistan, my girlfriend, at the time, was sending me a package every month and letters so often that when we got mail, half of it would be mine. It saddened me to see my brothers not receive any mail, so I would share what Jesse was sending me. Once we arrived stateside, Jesse was there to greet me and my unit, and was almost instantly showered with thank you after thank you from everyone that I shared the packages with. This compelled her to create this wonderful organization almost four years ago. Now, here we are! I am the first President to be a Veteran and I have big shoes to fill from the past years. That girl Jesse and I are getting married this summer and then I will be finishing off my undergraduate degree, spending a lot of time with a great group of people here in the Dear Hero Program – raising money and sending packages to those fighting for our freedom. With all of that being said, it will be a very busy year, but I look forward to every minute of it and encourage any and everyone reading this to come out to a meeting, meet us, write a letter, and share a good time!!

    Melanie,

I apologize that I have not seen this message until now. We would still love to collect letters from the kids at your school. We have a care packaging event coming up on February 21st. If you want to keep in contact, the best way to communicate with me is through my email maw5856@psu.edu.

Look forward to working with you!

    Best,

Miriam Wade (2016/2017 President of Dear Hero Program)

    Paul,
The Key Club at Penns Valley High School (Spring Mills, PA) would like to write Christmas cards to the Military.
Do we send them to you and do you address them?

We may also have a supplies drive at school.
We worked with Jesse about 4 years ago and want to contribute again.
    Thank you,
    Melanie Cramer, Key Club Advisor
