Database administration

Early in the history of Penn State’s online GIS program, I developed a database whose purpose was to track who had earned our certificate.  Over the years that database and associated website has evolved to play an important role in student advising, application review, grade reporting, certificate mailings, software mailings, enrollment tracking/planning and Graduate School reporting.

The success of the geospatial program database led to my building databases for other academic programs, both online (RESS and EARTH) and resident (GEOG and GEOSC).

Today, these databases are maintained by Tim Bracken, freeing me up to devote more time to teaching and maintaining my course content.
