Thank you for joining us at last Friday’s Curtilage Comeback event. During the event, attendees celebrated and recognized the following members of the law school community.
Legal Writing TAs – Molly Callihan, Adam Dicce, Casey Grohowski, Joshua Hanson, Marie LaRosa, Sydney Mikus, Nick Nizinksi, & Sofi Phillips
From Professor Martin: Professor Martin’s TAs have worked diligently this semester in helping 1Ls gain legal analysis and writing skills. Thank you for all you do to support our 1L students!
Professor Andrea Martin
Professor Martin has truly gone above and beyond to make 1L’s feel welcome at Penn State Dickinson Law. Not only does she come into class every day with a big smile and lots of energy, but she makes the Legal Writing classroom a positive environment to learn in. Beyond the classroom, she always makes additional time for students to speak with her, regarding class or just to check in with how students are adjusting to law school and shows she is rooting for each of us. As a 1L, having a professor that makes the adjustment to law school more supportive, even fun at times, means a lot. Thank you, Professor Martin, for your encouragement and continuing to spark joy in legal education.
KC Read-Fisher
KC is an amazing and kind person to everyone. She’s a wonderful student and always comes to class prepared with a smile and ready to learn. She goes out of her way to volunteer for the community both here and in the broader Carlisle area. She is ambitious and driven without being cruel or cutthroat. She goes out of her way to be kind and gracious to everyone. We are incredibly lucky to have her!!!
Leonard Sandler
He has been a great friend and support system throughout our 1L year. He has worked incredibly hard and is already paying off. Great Job Leo!
Professor Dermot Groome
He gave me support and words of encouragement when I needed them most. He probably didn’t know at the time, but I was having one of the harder weeks I have had in my 1L year, and his encouraging words reminded me why I am doing this and the kind of attorney I want to be. I have had many great professors throughout the years, but he is certainly among those at the top of the list.
Professor Sarah Williams
She maintains a very focused approach and makes course material simple to understand. It is clear that her goal is to ensure students truly understand the material, and she demonstrates that with tophat questions and repeated use of the question “why?”. She deserves to be recognized not just as a preferred professor at the university because of her fun and enjoyable classes, but because of her EXTREMELY effective teaching methods, of which other professors could learn from and implement in their own classes.
Ella Goldman
Ella worked extremely hard to put on an amazing O’Savio Moot Court Competition. From managing a schedule with a record amount of participants to coordinating all the judges, Ella did a wonderful job!
Professor Andrea Martin
Professor Martin is in her first year on the tenure track faculty and is already a beloved member of our community. She’s outgoing, positive, and always willing to help. Professor Martin is passionate about her work and our community. I want to thank her for her many contributions to Dickinson Law!
Benita Smith
Benita works mostly behind the scenes to support the dean but does so much for many. She’s recently helped organize and execute conferences and events that took a lot of planning. She also helps with key university processes that require widespread coordination. Benita brings a levelheaded attitude to all that she does and keeps those around her smiling and supported. Thank you, Benita!
Sabrina Sondhi
Professor Sondhi is the director of our law library and a legal research faculty member. This semester she’s taken on greater administrative duties and has successfully brought voice to important considerations. Professor Sondhi is a committed community builder, advocate for students, and all-around kind person. Thanks for all you do Professor Sondhi!
