Professor Hassen is looking to hire 2L or 3L research assistants to assist with several scholarly projects. Research topics are varied, but will involve gang policing and trials, the Second Amendment militia clause, and the theory and jurisprudence of juries. Potential RAs should expect to engage with both case law and academic research databases as well as judicial databases like PACER. Making friends with librarians will be part of this research. Prior familiarity with all research methods is not necessary, but eagerness to learn and willingness to figure things out are imperative. If interested, email Professor Hassen at aja7333@psu.edu with a short paragraph explaining your interest and any prior RA or relevant work as well as your availability.

Donate Household Items!
Student Services will be collecting gently-used household items to be freecycled during Fall 2024 orientation! The idea is to help students who are setting up their apartments mitigate their costs.
If you are spring cleaning and have basic kitchen or other small household items that you would like to donate, please bring them to the Student Services suite in the lower level of the law school. Items that would be useful: small appliances, pots and pans, silverware, plates and dishes, glassware and mugs, sheets and towels, etc. We unfortunately do not have room to store furniture or other large items, but if you have small items that you would like to donate, please let us know. Thanks!
Contact Dean Santibanez with any questions – gps5491@psu.edu.

Educational Equity Scholarships 2024-2025
The scholarship application for Educational Equity Scholarships is now open. Additional information is found at this site: Scholarships — Educational Equity (psu.edu)
The Educational Equity Scholarships include support for students with disabilities, students with veteran status or military dependents, and students who further the inclusion, diversity, and equity initiatives of the University.
All incoming and current Penn State students are encouraged and welcome to apply, including students enrolled in graduate and undergraduate programs across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and in World Campus. Students must complete the application to be eligible for consideration, including short essay questions. Educational Equity provides one application for all scholarships. Students will be considered for all scholarships for which they are eligible, and students must submit an application each year for consideration.
The single application is used for all possible scholarships, so students will need to select the categories that they meet the criteria and wish to be considered (ex: First Gen, Having a disability, etc). This year, there is a new scholarship that the criteria is for someone who is registered with Student Disability Resources and either currently has a life threatening condition or still experiences symptoms related to a life-threatening condition. This scholarship application will remain open until May 3, 2024 at 11:59 PM.
