Carlisle: ‘Tis the Season to Give to the ALDF’s Shelter Pet Donation Drive (ALL WEEK)

November 18, 2025 by drm6301

All next week, the Carlisle student chapter of the Animal Legal Defense Fund is hosting a shelter pet donation drive from November 17-21! We will be tabling in the Commons every day from 11a-1p, so please stop by to learn more about the cause, drop off donations, and grab yourself a free little goodie! When we aren’t tabling, the donation box will remain by the table (near the cafe), so you can still drop off donations outside of the tabling time. We would greatly appreciate new/gently used items for dogs, cats, and small pets (guinea pigs, rabbits, etc.). You can find a comprehensive wish list here on York County SPCA’s website, but just some of the items they are in desperate need of include dry cat and dog food (which can include open food if it’s unexpired and still in its original packaging), canned cat and dog food, bleach (for cleaning), kitten and puppy wet food, and pellet cat litter (Fresh News, Naturally Fresh) (Please note that among some of the items the shelter can’t accept due to health/other concerns include pillows, used pet beds, used toys, stuffed animals, fitted sheets, crochet/knit blankets, rawhide bones, etc.).  Additionally, we are raising money for the Central PA Horse Rescue, and you can make a monetary donation to them at any time here. Thank you so much for your support for the fur babies this holiday season!
*UPDATE: Please note that the donation box will remain at the tabling site for the entirety of the week and will NOT be moved to Admissions.
Please feel free to reach out to Delaney Mutchler-Mara (Carlisle ALDF president) with any questions at drm6301@psu.edu.
