This crowdsourced lost-and-found network means the biggest tracker ecosystems are also the most effective, since more users of the same tracking system increase the odds that a lost item will be spotted by someone’s phone. You want scale, and since AirTags use Apple’s massive “Find My” network that is built into iOS and macOS, that makes it far more effective than Tile at finding lost items over long distances. Lost Tiles can only be found by other people who have bought a Tile, which will never reach the scale of iPhone sales.
