Classroom 2.0 is a Ning net. I am having great success with Ning as a platform for organizing (now 83) people regionally. I am keeping notes and although my Ning net is just horse people, I have learned enough about key leaders for change and joiner mentality that I believe I can utilize Ning as a tool in schools, and also for the artists in my Mother’s art gallery to develop an artist community. The social network is an area that has not even been explored for multiplicity of uses. The custom-designed network makes participatory learning fun for users, and is a platform where the learning is insidious. Great for middle schoolers.
One idea that I want to explore is how these tools build identity in youth and level the playing field for learners to include everyone of multiple cultures, urban and rural.
