I’m Brandon. I’m in my second semester of doctoral studies in the Language, Culture, and Society program in Curriculum and Instruction. I taught English as a foreign language for about eight years. Two of that was with the Peace Corps, in Ukraine, the rest was in Korea.
While teaching in Korea, I had the capability and freedom to experiment with different classroom technologies, and was able to see technology applied in the classroom with great, mixed, and terrible results. One of my main research interests is the ways in which teacher attitudes and conceptions of technology can affect the ways they employ it in the classroom.
I’m a committed technology dabbler, I like to try a bit of everything. I’ve done a little coding, a little web design, played around with electronics and game creation. I’m hoping to draw on some of that this semester.
