Hi, I’m Audrey. I’m originally from Philadelphia, but have now lived in State College for 10 years (not counting the undergrad years). I have a B.S. in Environmental Science and after 5 years in that industry, switched careers into the world of technology and have never looked back. Now my role is web designer/strategist and manager of a design team with Teaching and Learning with Technology’s TLT Studio. Our mission is to build things to support innovative teaching, learning, research, and communication. We believe that we can change the world by improving education with technology..
I have a 3 year old, whose patterns of learning have given me a new appreciation and insight. She has also inspired me to consider the role of technology in our lives, in general. I love technology. I love all things design. I still like trees. And I also knit.
A lot of what I do on a daily basis is having conversations around education technology and innovation, working alongside instructional designers in researching and developing solutions, and communicating between web professionals/technologists and educators. There are lots of different perspectives and motivations associated with technology in the context of teaching and learning, and I’m interested in understanding more about the pedagogical side. Technology is disrupting all facets of society more than ever before, from commercial, to lifestyle, to entertainment, and science. Of course it’s effecting education. I’m interested in seeing higher ed adapt quicker, innovate, and own it.
