Hi everyone. My name is Zach and I like puppies and chocolate milk. I’m currently pursuing my M.Ed. in Learning, Design, and Technology through the Wold Campus, but I take a mix of online and face-to-face courses. I also work full-time at Penn State in the College of Nursing as an Instructional Production Specialist. That’s just a fancy name for saying I do a little bit of everything that deals with technology or multimedia.
I’m from Altoona – about 35 minutes south of State College. I graduated from Penn State Altoona with a B.A. in Communications with a strong focus on video and multimedia. I also worked at the PSU Altoona IT Help Desk for 3 years during my undergrad. I have a strong background in technology and multimedia. I’m also a wedding videographer for Altoona Video Production. So if you or anyone you know is getting married, check us out! And on that note, an interesting fact about me is that I will soon be married! I proposed this past September on the big screen at the drive-ins. I created this video that played as a commercial before the movies started.
I’m taking this class mainly because of one word: disrupting. That word pulled me in and I needed to know more. I would say I have a rather high comfort level with technology, especially new technology. I love trying new technologies, new apps, new tools. And I’m really looking forward to diving into this class this semester to learn about how education is being disrupted and will continue to be disrupted by these new technologies. I do see education dramatically changing in the near future and I’m really intrigued to just how it’s going to change. I know that it’s changing; I have an idea of what direction it’s going; but I just don’t know how it will end up.
