The power to be creative- is beaten out of you in grad school
Reading from powerpoint is deadly
Understanding how much power we have to be creative
Requiring attendance-forces you to make something happen
Seeing yourself in your students- makes you think outside of the box.
Trust- allows students to challenge their beliefs
Poll everywhere- is a tool that is used in the class
Breaking the rules in class-
– saying I don’t know, touching students, not staying in the podium area.
Creating discussion student groups- undergrads working for credit!!! brillant!!!
The instructor is choosing- selecting what is the representative example of student assessment to be used for the assessment of the course.
Courses experiences aren’t going to change that much- students are going to get out of it what they can- this is Not a student driven system. This is about faculty constructing an assessment system…
Where faculty work with a curriculum map then create a digital box then tag the work to work through the ‘swimming pool for program assessment. Tracking assessment- thinking is sustainable ways.
drawbacks- faculty distill the data entry- choose the few entries that make the box…
Disruptive- turbulant, uncomfortable, squinty eye, head hurting, anything out of the ordinary…
Hi My name is Sarah Stager I am from Ridgway, Pennsylvania. My interests are diverse- I love Pilates and politics. I enjoy research and exercise. I am taking this class because I would like to explore new technologies with more confidence. I am interested in the influence of technology in the scope of progressive learning, where students are explorers and teachers are merely the guide.
