Geometry

Since Java applets are no longer supported in most web browsers, I’ve recently started making my old Java applets available as Java ARchive downloads, which can be run as standalone applications. For more information, see How to Run a Java ARchive. If there’s an applet you’d like to use that’s not currently available for download as a Java ARchive, please let me know, and I’d be happy to convert it for you and post a link below.

  • Download all Geometry applets

The following is a list of Geometry applets included in the above link.

  • Euclidean Geometry
    • This first collection of applets shows how to perform the following basic geometric constructions:
      • Equilateral triangle
      • Perpendicular bisector
      • Midpoint of two points
      • Bisecting an angle
      • Reflection of a point across a line
      • Perpendicular line
      • Projection of a point onto a line
      • Parallel line
      • Constructing a Square
      • Constructing a Golden Rectangle
      • Inversion of a point across a circle
      • Two Lines Tangent to a Circle
    • This next collection of applets demonstrates several fundamental constructions involving triangles, concluding with a few remarkable relationships between these constructions.
      • Centroid
      • Circumcenter
      • Orthocenter
      • Incenter
      • Euler’s line
      • Six Point Circle
      • Nine Point Circle
    • This next collection of applets considers a number of well known theorems of Euclidean geometry:
      • Morley’s Theorem
      • Simson’s Theorem
      • Johnson’s Theorem
      • Napolean’s Theorem
    • Use the Euclidean Toolbox Applet to further your understanding of Euclidean Geometry and discover your own theorems!
  • Hyperbolic Geometry
    • Use the Hyperbolic Geometry Toolbox to further your understanding of Hyperbolic Geometry and discover your own theorems!
  • Spherical Geometry
