Tech Trends Special Issue: Teacher Education Division

The Teacher Education Division of AECT is sponsoring a special edition of Tech Trends related to trends and issues in teacher education programs.

Please submit an article related to these possible topic areas:

  • Preparing preservice and inservice teachers to integrate technology in diverse
    settings
  • Preparing preservice and inservice teachers to utilize various instructional formats
    and new school models (e.g. hybrid, flipped, online)
  • Leveraging technology to enhance teacher education (i.e. how faculty are using
    technology with their preservice and inservice teachers)
  • How does policy shape (or dictate) preservice teacher education and teacher professional development
  • Preparing preservice and inservice teachers to utilize gaming for learning
  • Preparing preservice and inservice teachers to incorporate personalized learning and intuitive technologies
  • Innovative redesign of teacher preparation courses and curriculum
  • Innovative redesign of teacher professional development programs
  • How educational technology and/or instructional design theory can support teacher candidates’ completion of edTPA and other high stakes assessments
  • How educational technology and/or instructional design theory can support accreditation activities related to teacher education programs

Follow the writing style guidelines for Tech Trends. Use APA formatting throughout.

Submit ideas or a blind manuscript and a cover sheet to Jennifer Banas, jbanas@neiu.edu for initial review. If accepted for review, you will be directed to a Tech Trends portal for this special issue.

We kindly ask authors also to serve as reviewers for other submissions. Given your expertise in teacher education related activities, your peer review feedback is extremely valuable.

  • March 23 – Submissions due
  • ~May 4 – Decisions made; feedback sent
  • June 13 – Revisions due
  • ~July 13 – Feedback on revised manuscripts
  • August 10 – Revisions due
  • September 28 – Final articles due to Tech Trends
