Introduction
Innovative practices related to scholarship of teaching and learning occur inside and outside of classrooms in formal and non-formal educational institutions located in various countries across the world. Teaching strategies and learning technologies that are being used in cultural and national contexts support innovative curriculum and instructional activities. The interplay among innovative teaching-learning strategies and technologies across cultural and national borders has transnational facets that can inform the activities of both scholars and practitioners. The transnational facets of such innovative teaching-learning strategies and technologies have implications to foster creativity, transformative learning, and more efficient and effective learning outcomes, especially for learners with diverse backgrounds. This volume intends to feature such transnational facets based on chapters that include theoretical and practical insights from various regions of the world.
Purpose of the book:
Strategies and technologies of teaching and learning are being used across the world in various unique national and cultural contexts. Some of these strategies and technologies are unique to specific nation-states and cultures. Some of them have been used globally, but with local adaptation. The purpose of this proposed publication is to highlight patterns with transnational applications or facets that are nationally or culturally situated.
Chapters’ Format
Completed chapters should be between 7,000 and 8,000 words in length, and fully referenced following APA style guidelines. A chapter must include sections about:
ü Innovativeness: What makes the teaching or learning strategy or technology innovative?
ü Conceptual or theoretical framework: What extant literature, conceptual or theoretical framework informed the innovative teaching or learning strategy or technology?
ü National context: What are the social, economic, cultural, or even political contexts of the education system within which the innovative teaching or learning strategy or technology occurred or is occurring?
ü Evidence: What evidence suggests that such innovative learning or teaching strategy or technology is effective?
ü Transnationalness: What other national or social or cultural contexts that such innovative learning or teaching strategy or technology (a) has already been applied, or (b) is applicable?

Submission Format and Procedure
Researchers and practitioners are invited to submit on or before September 15, 2016, a 2-3 page manuscript proposal (MS Word) that clearly explains the aims of the proposed chapter. All proposals should be include the following information:
1. Full name and title of the author (s);
2. Professional status (lecturer, instructor, assistant professor, associate professor, professor, Director, Dean, Provost, President, etc.);
3. Professional affiliation (name of your educational institution);
4. Professional address and email;
5. Manuscript proposal that includes (a) the justification for your proposed chapter, (b) the purpose, (c) the methods involving the writing of the chapter, and (d) an outline summarizing each section and sub-section of the proposed chapter;
6. A short bio, including position/title, and academic institution of each author (50-100 words).
7. Email your chapter proposal to: Dr. Emmanuel Jean Francois: jeanfran@ohio.edu
8. The subject line of the e-mail should read: “Innovation Chapter Proposal 2016”
7. Schedule
September 15, 2016: Proposal submission deadline (A 2-3 page manuscript proposal, including the following information: name and title of authors, professional status, professional affiliation, address and email, purpose, research questions, outline of proposed chapter, brief bio 50-100 words of each author)
October 15, 2016: Notification of proposal status (acceptance or rejection) to submitters
December 15, 2016: Deadline for full chapter submission (A 7,000 to 8,000 words in length, using APA style guidelines)
February 15, 2016: Notification of chapter proposal status (after double-blind review)
April 15, 2016: Submission of final manuscript (after revision) by contributors
Book release: To Be Determined by publisher
