Category: 02 Thirteen Ways

Here is my image for project 2. This is inspired from the poem, “Thirteen Ways of Looking at a Blackbird” and the Gestalt techniques we learned. I enjoyed working on this project and  and being able to represent how I interpreted the poem visually.

Here are my three sketches for Project 2. The first image represents my re-read sketch. We had to re-read “13 Ways of Looking at a Blackbird” and create visuals for each stanza of the poem. The second sketch pulls from analysis and inspiration from the poem by looking for concepts such as pattern, color and texture. Finally, the last sketch is where i have started creating images for the final project. These images are not a “blueprint” but rather a way to discover what it is i want to be included in the final product.

Here is my project 2 screen capture. So far, i have created five images out of fifteen related to the poem “13 Ways of Looking at a Blackbird”.

Here is my type drawing exercise. In this exercise we focused on drawing with type and de-familiarizing with letters to see them rather as drawings.

Here is my grid systems exercise. This exercise is related to The Bauhau’s and focuses on grids and how they can be utilized.

Here is my Gestalt Praxis image. This is based around the ideas of symmetry and asymmetry.
