1.3.3 Design Final: Dream Story

The concept of my piece is dreams being turned into a story. The reason why I thought of this is because I just started thinking about my own stories, but haven’t exactly started writing them. The other concept that came into mind for this piece is Anime, I like the unique drawing of characters and it shows a different ways of drawing each character. The story of “Dream Stories” is you are asleep and your dreams, imaginations, and thoughts start rushing out. The different scenarios, moments, and theories are playing through your head, there are twists and turns throughout the dream. Then you finally wake up remembering these dreams and then you start writing and drawing creating that story and making it become real. That is the story, I was able to come up with this because I have a lot of dreams, both good and bad, but the interesting thing is the story that they tell. It makes me come up with ideas of things that I would like to write and draw about when it comes to making up stories. Being able to turn dreams into a story is a great way for me to remember the different ideas that have come into my head.

When it came to the project I have thought about different combinations of words that I could use for my project, just when I decided to think of one thing another thing comes into mind. Different concepts definitely came into mind when I was thinking about the different kinds of things ideas came. Then I started searching things related to anime and then I saw all of these nice pictures and gifs of anime related things. That is when I thought this is the concept that I should go for my project. I didn’t have a solid foundation but I did find a good amount of photos and gifs that I would use for the project. There are more photos that I would like to use for the project along with some nice transitions that could be used to make it better. The other thing that would be suitable would be the track. I do not have a track in mind that I thought would be suitable for my project but I would keep searching for one with a nice piano track to it, but I am trying out different concepts for that also. In the end, this is just the beginning of the project with much improvements that could be made.

1.3.1 Design Concept

Brainstorming is the main thing that gets an artist motivated when start coming up with new ideas that would capture the attention of people to know about the uniqueness of their work so that means in order for this to be done there are a wide variety of ways that an artist could be able to brainstorm their next big project. However, there is a possibility that they could not think of anything that would be worth creating. There are ways to get them out the block, it would mean to think of a word that pop into their head. but there is a way to be able to get them out of that artists block. A Mindmap would be a completely useful tool that they could use in order to come up with an idea. The purpose of it is to find words that would shout out to them and give them inspiration of what they want create. That was the point of the assignment, to create a mindmap through MindMup in order to come up with different kinds of words that could combine together to make concept that they believe would be the topic and art that they want to put out for the general public to see.

1.2 Exercise Reflections

1.2.1 In the Cloud

On a computer there a few different ways storing things such as using the original storage that is in a computer or for me I consider this as a lifesaver to me which is a USB drive because that way I would have all of my files with me the entire time. Technology has developed over the years to this day and it will continue to create things which includes new kinds of processing speeds, storage, and other things that are important for a computer to function. The biggest thing to have in the technology age is cloud computing, a innovative way to save content and get access to from any computer that you use on a personal basis. This would be perfect for artists because they have a lot of work to save and they just need to open it from another system.

1.2.2 Creating a Dynamic Composition

To create a dynamic composition you need to have an original artwork to render. The way that this is created through abstract art which is an art piece made with simple shapes. In fact the one that was rendered was using abstract art mainly using rectangles to create an art in a different perspective. On Adobe Illustrator we use rectangles, resize them, and rotate them to make it look like the original picture but it is difficult to make completely right. But that is beauty of doing abstract art you get to create something off of an original in our own eyes. Like this for example:

1.2.3 Spark Demos

Before the tutorials I did not know anything about Adobe Spark but after watching the videos I learned of how similar it could be to Microsoft PowerPoint, Google Slides, and other ones that are helpful with everyday life. For Adobe Spark they are creating works that can be put together that could form a montage of photos that could give a message or a story. Digital Artists can be creative with things like that it is their way of expressing themselves to the community and also showcase their talents. With Adobe Spark they can do that and with Adobe’s cloud technology there are many things that they are able to do with it. Despite have to create multiples of the same artwork it is still better than losing progress and also no undo button but that is ok too it gives you that idea of slight alteration.

1.1 Reference Reflections

1.1.1 Metaphor

Computer software is constantly changing in everyday life. With things how they were artists used things such as all different kinds utensils and surfaces to make their artwork come to life which is what captures peoples attention. Physically creating works has driven people to make them show their imagination for the public to witness for everyone to see. Digital works are now becoming the newest thing that artists that they are using in order to create new works of arts with the best forms of software that people are looking for when it comes to making original art. It doesn’t matter with the operating system in a persons computer, and with the design software from Adobe contains canvas and utensils which would include pencils, brushes, palettes, artboards, and photographic equipment. With these forms of software from Adobe which would include Illustrator, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, and other pieces of software that would be needed for any kind of art work that is being created. The thing that I would take away from reading this article is the fact that metaphors would refer to the utensils which would be the vast amount of tools and that there is software that is used to make artwork digitally. Included with a cloud that would save the projects without being ruined by any other means.

1.1.2 Time and Motion

When thinking about time and motion one thing would come into mind for me which would be animation. When it does come to doing animation we have to make sure that each component of it is doing the correct motion within the allotted time that is recommended for it. The one thing that should have been thought of when it comes to working on something like that would be for something that would include animation which would be in television and films. Time and motion in the TV and film industry are all design works that create the motion sequence that are developed through various storyboards. With these storyboards that show these motions they create a sequence that would look appealing to the public eye. To be able to create something like this would take valuable time to create and edit around with to make sure that it looks good for the scene. Without this concept then movies wouldn’t look as good or wouldn’t even exist at all. It is a time consuming process that people all are constantly working on when it comes to motion picture the timing of the scene motions would have to match along with the rest of film in order to create the sequence that would capture the audiences reactions. I think that thing that I would take away from reading about time and motion is the many things that can be done if we think about time and motion as a work concept that has resulted in the creation of many different TV and Films iconic scenes. People would consider this as a difficult thing, but for those who have been doing it for a very long time are the real pros for creating these kinds of works of art that always capture the audiences reactions and have them anticipating the next scene.

1.1.3 Fair Use

When people hear the word piracy or copyright, it actually is not a legal thing to do when working with an original work. These original works are protected, and the only way that people could be able to use it is if it is through the Fair Use Act. When it comes to making content there is something that people should watch out for when they do create content with someone else original content. It is best to ask the original creator for their permission to use their content on the content that you create for your channel. If you just use it without their permission then trouble will happen because it is something that they created and they did not give you their permission to use their content. Creating original content is actually difficult, meaning that you should have a mindset of creating something. The thing that people really like to see is original content because it was a different idea than the usual content that they will see online. If you make content there is one thing that people have to be careful of using different content because it is difficult to try to use copyrighted content and make it in a way that it can be saved by the fair use act. I think the thing that I would take away from reading is how important it is to have the Fair Use act, now a days content is sometimes repeated even though they are from different channels. However, the most important thing about this act is it gives content makers to be able to use this content whether it is from another channel or something off of TV. That is why in the past and to the present there have been skits, parodies, and other things using names, music, videos, and other content, but change it in someway that it is not the original content that people have seen already. Instead it is content that appears different from something that they did to change it from the original to the content that they create.
