Step 1: Review the Admissions transfer evaluation you received in the mail. This tells you which courses transferred into Penn State and how many credits you were awarded for each course.
- If you have any questions about this report contact the Admissions Office.
- If you have credits that have not posted send your updated transcripts to the Admissions Office.
- If you have classes currently in progress be sure to send an official syllabus to Penn State as soon as your grades from this semester are recorded and your semester record is official at your current school. Classes that you reported as being in progress during the application process are only provisionally accepted at Penn State until our Admissions department receives an official transcript of your final semester.
Step 2: Make a phone appointment to speak with an Economics adviser. Advisers can explain how the courses on your transfer evaluation apply toward your Economics degree.
- Your adviser may instruct you to have ECON course syllabi reviewed for use in the major. This review is completed by the Economics Department. Detailed instructions about ECON transfer course evaluation can be found on the Penn State Economics Webpage. If you are pursuing a bachelor of science degree you may also need calculus and/or computer science courses evaluated. Please note: You MUST have ECON courses evaluated prior to your arrival on campus.
- Your adviser will tell you if you need to submit syllabi for any other courses. In many cases this is not necessary. Syllabi that are needed for use in the general education area should be sent directly to your adviser.
Please note: A maximum of 12 ECON credits taken outside of University Park can be applied toward the Economics degree. Of these 12 credits, a maximum of 3 credits can be used at the 400 level.
