Phillies Home Opener to Feature NL Pennant, Nick Sirianni and More

The Philadelphia Phillies are set to open their first home game of the season this Friday, April 7. The sold-out home opener for the reigning National League Champions will feature a copious amount of pregame festivities and amenities for fans. The gates to the ballpark will open at 12:35 p.m., ahead of the first pitch of the Reds vs. Phillies game at 3:05 p.m. Available to the fans will be photo opportunities with the NL championship trophy, Phillies and Reds batting practice, the raising of the 2022 National League Pennant, first pitch by Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni, recognition of Sergeant Christopher David Fitzgerald and much more.

The newsmaker in this story would be the Phillies organization and theĀ  publics that will be interested in this story would be the fans of the Phillies. This story deals with the special audience of the Phillies, also being their fanbase. This story relates to the course as it demonstrates a company providing their stakeholders with a specialized event for the organizations opening day in their home stadium.

If I were the PR person for the Philadelphia Phillies, the audiences I would concern myself with would be the fans of the organization. This story is very positive and it provides Phillies fans with an exciting opening day at their home ballpark for the 2023 season. The recognition of the Phillies incredible 2022 season is very important, as it would not have been possible if not for the dedicated fanbase which is the backbone of the Phillies organization.

My personal reaction to this story is that I was very pleased to hear about all of the activities surrounding the National League Pennant, as well as other important Philadelphia figures. As mentioned, the Phillies will showcase Eagles head coach, Nick Sirianni with the first pitch and will be recognizing Sergeant Christopher David Fitzgerald, a Temple Police Officer who was killed in the line of duty on February 18. These actions by the Phillies organization are key in maintaining their brand image amongst their most important stakeholders, being their fans. A plethora of Philly sports teams, including the Eagles, made championship runs and deserve to have their efforts recognized. The Temple officer who was killed also deserves recognition, as he was the first officer to die in the line of duty while serving for Temple University. PR folks for the Phillies should continue to commend the efforts from important Philadelphia figures throughout the season and in the future.
