Bio – Dr. Edward J. Glantz, P.E.

Ed_Glantz_300dpiDr. Edward J. Glantz, P.E. is Senior Lecturer at The Pennsylvania State University, College of Information Sciences and Technology (IST), University Park, Pennsylvania.  He also serves as coordinator of IST’s professional Master degree in Cybersecurity and Information Assurance.

Edward has been a faculty member at Penn State’s University Park campus since 2000.  In 2009 he joined the College of IST faculty, where he earned the George J. McMurtry Faculty Excellence in Teaching and Learning Award, the James B. Thomas Community Award, and twice selected as Faculty Marshall.  Prior to joining IST, Edward spent ten years as a faculty member with Penn State’s Smeal College of Business, where he earned the Brand-Paiste Teaching award recognizing outstanding faculty.

Before joining Penn State’s faculty, Edward spent eighteen-years’ managing technology, research, and marketing in the manufacturing and telecommunication industries, including startup work.  In addition to being licensed as a Professional Engineer, Edward holds a PhD in Cognitive Science from Penn State, an MBA in Strategic Management from Wharton, and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and a Bachelor of Arts in General Arts and Science from Penn State.

Edward specializes in security architecture as a member of Penn State’s Center for Enterprise Architecture. He has developed and taught courses in risk analysis, information security, enterprise architecture, business information systems, application development, decision theory, and intelligence analysis.

Dr. G. and his wife are both passionate Penn State alumni, along with their three children.
