Purpose…

Ensuring that social science research resonates with policymakers is critical to improving lives in Pennsylvania and beyond, because government and governance is improved when it is informed by unbiased expertise, rigor and the scientific method.  This requires bridging the gap between the insights of the academic world and real social challenges through the translation of complex evidence, research and data for relevance to policy decision makers. With that goal in mind, the Evidence-to-Impact Collaborative at Penn State aims to facilitate this effort by shining a spotlight on discussions between researchers and decision makers.

Episodes feature discussions spanning the spectrum of important social topics including poverty and health outcomes, the challenges and disparity of rural healthcare, stigma associated with substance abuse, inequality in housing, among many others.
