Each week, R For Data Science online community posts a new data set for #TidyTuesday on this page, and individuals in the R community analyze or simply plot the data in a creative and interesting way, posting their results on Twitter with #TidyTuesday. These challenges have given me an opportunity to learn and practice new ways to plot and explore data sets, as well as the chance to incorporate new practices (e.g. Github) into my workflow without the risk of learning new things while directly interacting with my research code. When I don’t have the time to look at the data myself, I enjoy watching David Robinson’s screencasts, where I learn many tips and tricks to code more efficiently.
Below are a few examples of plots I have made for #TidyTuesday! You can find all the code on my Github page.

Last week’s #TidyTuesday.. started off in R but ended up in Adobe Illustrator. Does combining plots and pictures seem like a dangerous or ok idea? Either way, it is fun.

Although the US had the most downloads by far this year, when you look at unique IP addresses the difference is nowhere near as drastic. Iceland had the largest number of downloads (unique IP) per capita by far. #TidyTuesday @WeAreRLadies

Dramas have the lowest median return on investment (ROI) out of these 5 movie genres but have the potential to do really well. Interesting that horror films have the highest median ROI but so few are made. #TidyTuesday pic.twitter.com/lDpPq4D11d
