For our History of a Public Controversy project, we haven’t gotten a chance to brainstorm as a group yet, and I am having trouble coming up with ideas, but I have a few that could work.
First, I thought of the controversy surrounding trans people in athletics. This is a controversy that is relatively new, so I think it would be an interesting one to dissect in-depth. There are a variety of resources and examples that could be utilized for both sides of the argument and I think creating a project on this newer topic could educate a lot of people since it is so prevalent.
Secondly, I thought of the controversy surrounding abortion access and female bodily autonomy. I think this could also educate a lot of people and has a ton of evidence for both sides from supreme court cases to protests and so much more. This one has been prevalent for a longer time so there would be more evidence and more of a case to be made for each side as opposed to my other idea.
In conclusion, I think these are both great starting points, but talking with my group will definitely be more eye-opening and lead to some better topics.

I really like the topic of access to abortion for females as that scandal has brought awareness much more to people with many stops banning abortion. There are many opinions about it and it is a big thing in society and females. Great job.
I think both of the topics you said would be great for this project. There are good arguments for using both, but I think, as you said with how the trans-athletes controversy is relatively new, abortion access would be a better topic as there is more available material for it. Overall, I like both topics you chose, good stuff!
