When?
The Encactus National Competition will be held in Kansas City, MO on May 20-22, 2018.
What?
Competing against other college Enactus teams, the Penn State Altoona Enactus students will present a 17-minute multi-media summary of the educational outreach projects they are developing and implementing this year. They will be judged by a panel of business and community leaders on how well they created economic opportunity by helping others.
Enactus competitions are challenging, team-oriented events that create a sense of accountability and motivation for teams to continually improve the quality of their projects. They also provide an opportunity for collaboration and best-practice sharing, further strengthening the value of the learning experience and the overall effectiveness of the program.
In addition to competition, students will have the opportunity to interview for jobs and internships during a Career Fair with representatives from Enactus partner companies.
Why compete?
Enactus believes, as in business, a healthy spirit of competition motivates the participants and leads to better results. Because of this, Enactus teams are invited to showcase the effect of their outreach projects at annual competitions judged by panels of business leaders. The competitions are challenging, team oriented events that strengthen the students’ communication and networking skills.
Teams compete at regional and national levels — with the competitive process ending at the Enactus World Cup. One team from each country comes together to share the impact they made in their local and global communities with international business leaders.
