Each of these three principles – building trust, focusing on action and outcomes, and embracing adaptive engagement – are the fundamental principles from which everything else in an engagement effort should spring. In short, those processes that are building trust, leading to the outcomes your stakeholders feel are most important, and adhering to evidence-based strategies while being responsive to the context in which your initiative is being undertaken are the ones, in our experience, that are most likely to be successful in the long run.
