Summary

This chapter has identified a number of the primary pre-existing conditions that the engagement literature identifies as most likely to lead to success in engagement processes. We consider them Process Attributes because they are essential aspects that inform and motivate every element of our Process Model design (see Chapter 6). Operationalized through effective facilitation strategies (see Chapter 7), these attributes are designed to realize the foundational Principles of trust-building, action, outcomes, and adaptive engagement outlined in Chapter 4.
