For Paper #1, I made a rhetorical analysis on Budweiser’s Super Bowl commercial “Lost Dog”. I wrote about key points on the title, the music choice, and the elements in the commercial (such as the characters). Also, I mentioned aspects of ethos, pathos, and logos, but there are many more to be added on the final paper. On the logos part, I was thinking about going more into depth of the brand name placement and the psychology of the slogans #BestBuds and #FriendsAreWaiting. On pathos, the role of the horse, and owner need to be more emphasized because I focused too much on the dog. On ethos, I will expand on the owner and the psychology of his presence in the commercial. Also, the essay needs more psychological analysis on each of the parts, and it needs a conclusion. Overall, the essay must be more specific and include more detail on each part of the rhetorical analysis.
For Paper #2, I wrote a rhetorical analysis about two articles that reported a recent clash of opinions between the Pope and Donald Trump. The two articles focus on the opinions of the two public figures, but one argument is more subjective than the other. On the essay, I will include more analysis on ethos, pathos, and logos. This analysis will consist on how the views of both the Pope and Donald Trump are portrayed in the articles.
