Microsoft Word: Help for Pasting

If you use Copy and Paste in Microsoft Word, you know that using CTRL+C and CTRL+V will carry out these functions for you without moving your hands from the keyboard. This works nearly seamlessly if the item you want to paste is the last item that was copied.

There is a little-used feature of Word that can help you to collect multiple copied pieces of text or images to paste them into your document. This way, you aren’t limited to pasting only the last item copied.

The feature is hidden inside of Word’s Clipboard. This location stores copied items until you are ready to use them again. You can see it if you expand the Clipboard group on the Home tab.Expand the Clipboard by clicking the lower right side of the Clipboard group on the Home ribbon.

This will reveal the Clipboard. From here, you can paste any previously used item directly into your document. The Clipboard panel shows all recently copied items.

You can choose when this panel will appear. Click on the Options button at the bottom of the Clipboard panel.

Clipboard Options can be customized.
