Changing the Default Font in Word

Every time you begin a new Word document, you do it:  You change the font style, size, color … something.  You’re not keen on Calibri, so you switch it up to Arial, Verdana, or something else.

How would you like to begin typing in your preferred font every time you work in Word?

Here is what you need to do to change the default font in Microsoft Word:

  1. Open Word, and begin a blank document.
  2. Click on the lower right corner of the Font section of the Home ribbon.Word font default window crop
  3. A window will open, where you can choose your desired default font settings.
  4. Click Set As Default.
  5. Choose the radio button next to All documents based on the Normal template. Word default radio
