The Rain Dancers- Water Shortage Facts (April 20, 2016)

Water shortage is a big problem that we are facing today. Water shortage is the lack of sufficient available water resources needed to meet water needs within a specific region. Water has grown at more than twice the rate of population increase in the last century. It is estimated that by 2025 that 1.8 billion people will live in areas plagued by water scarcity with 2/3’s of the world’s population living in water-stressed regions as a result of use, growth, and climate change. if we don’t do something soon, we won’t be able to survive on Earth anymore

Here are some facts to think about:

1.) Only about 1% of the Earth’s water is available to drink.

2.) The average American uses about 140-170 gallons of water per day.

3.) It takes about 3.3 acre-feet of water to grow enough food for an average family for a year.

  1. I find your facts very interesting. I had water pollution as well. It is great that you guys are becoming more informed about the environment.
