BERKS Bros’ Solidifies Their Service Opportunity

This week Berks Bros. traveled to Glenside Elementary School for the second time this fall. We met with school nurse, Mrs. Boyer who is the president of the garden club at Glenside. She walked us around the schools property and ran a couple of other project ideas by us. She talked about how her main goal was to expand the fenced in garden area all throughout the schools property. We decided to build a total of 7 bird feeders (one for each grade) to immerse throughout the schools property. These bird feeders will be able to withstand the elements, yet still be cost effective and friendly to the environment. The design of the feeders will have the ability to be fastened to many different surfaces and placed in areas that the students will be able to see them.

As for our research topic we will be discussing the concerns that come with fossil fuels and how we can solve some of these issues with electric cars. This is a problem that has been around for decades and we hope that by the conclusion of our research we will be more educated on the problem, as well as be able to explain how to combat the issue to other people.

While completing our flower bed around the shed, I saw the bird feeders and thought they were constructed very neatly! great job guys.

This idea seems very interesting! Hopefully this will accomplish the goal your group wants to reach.
