City of Reading Storm Drain Project – Prestige Worldwide

On Wednesday, April 11th, our team went into the city of Reading to complete the “hands-on” part of our EACAP project. We had a successful day. During several hours of work, we painted a total of 20 storm drains. We used stencils that read “PROTECT YOUR WATER, DRAINS TO RIVER” in English and Spanish. We had a fun time working on this project together and made a lot of memories while also doing a good deed in protecting our environment.

This was my original first choice!!! Im glad you guys were FINALLY able to get outside and enjoy the weather by giving back to the community! You did a great job!

  5. Great pictures! It looks like all of you had a good time. I think its great that you all chose to do this project because I think it will encourage recycling more.

  6. This looked life a fun project to do! It also is going to leave a huge impact on the residents of Reading and should make them think twice about what they are putting down the drains. Hopefully the action you guys took to put these warning labels on the drains can start an initiative city wide in putting up warning labels in other areas of waste dispersal.

  8. That idea of implementing two languages for people to read is a great idea especially so it gets the message across in two different ways. I think this will help a lot to the cause, awesome job!

I think it is great that you guys chose a project that helps spread awareness to the residence of the city. Sometimes people just liter but do not think of the consequences, that it can fall through the drains and contaminate our water.

  10. Glad to see that “trusting the process” panned out for you guys. It looks like your group was very successful in the efforts to keep the storm drains clean.

Incredible way to create awareness and very wise move of putting it in both English and Spanish, since the population at Reading is very diverse.
