Here’s another update from Team PACK! At the beginning of the month we went to Nolde again to help out. Unfortunately the weather was still not cooperating with us too well, so we did inside work again. Just like the last time we helped out Rachel with preparing their day of the dead event and turtle spotting with kids.
We also helped sort through broken pieces of equipment, so that kids would have fun with their experiments and art. We helped take this stuff out to the trash too!
Around lunchtime Rachel invited us over to another one of their buildings to observe some of the frogs! There was a window overlooking the pond and feeders, and they had a microphone so that you could hear the sounds from outside. The funny thing about this kind of frog is that they make more of a “quack” than a “croak”!
I tried to pick one up, but the best I could do was get it on my shoe.
This was my last day at Nolde for service, but it was such a great time and the people there were great. I will definitely visit again, and if I get the chance to volunteer during the summer, would love to be there again.
It looks like despite the weather not holding up, you had a really great time and made the most of your experience!
I am very curious about which day you went to Nolde Forest, because we haven’t heard or participated in this special event. You guys are so lucky!
It looks like you guys had a lot of fun! I also was able to volunteer at Nolde, but I wasn’t able to have the joy of cutting out turtles. I also wasn’t able to see any frogs! Looked like a blast!
You all looked like you had a great time helping out at Nolde. I hope you all enjoyed yourselves and learned a lot.
Looks like you guys really enjoyed yourselves! I bet the kids loved the turtles you cut out.
