Our team had two visits at Glenside Elementary where we completed activities with the kindergarten students. Here, we split the classroom into different groups. At Ashley’s group she taught the students about the life cycle of a plant and they got to plant their own lima bean. At Vinny’s group, the students learned about habitats and specifically how birds create nest. On his poster, he included what birds make their nests out of. At Quinn’s group, students learned the components of the life cycle and were able to make their own rain in a cup to better understand how the water cycle works. At Caroline’s group, students learned about why recycling is important and water pollution. The students participated in a game where they had to race to pull trash out of a bucket filled with water and plastic sea animals to represent the ocean.

That sounds like the kids had a lot of fun and learned something new. I wish that my Elementary school had something like this.
