K.A.R.E. ‘s Kick-Off!

Our names are Kayla, Andrea, and Raeshel, and we are working with Glenside Elementary School for the EACAP project.

Kayla is a sophomore Communication Arts and Science major minoring in Professional Writing. She previously went to an all arts school and looks forward to be working within the arts again, and interacting with kids.

Andrea is a sophomore Finance major.  She enjoys working with children and being creatives so being able to create designs to go on the rocks for/with the kids is right up her alley!

Raeshel is first year criminology major. She currently works at Northwest Middle School in Reading, so she is looking forward to working more with children during the EACAP. Art is one of her lifelong passions, so she is also excited to incorporate this into the service project.

On Thursday, our team had its initial meeting with Ms. Huock, the assistant principal at Glenside. We are most interested in the “Only One You” project, which involves painting rocks and putting them together to create a structured arrangement, like a walkway. We have the potential to also assist Dr. Kazempour with the Earth Day event she coordinates on the Berks campus, which involves the fifth graders at Glenside. Hopefully, we can work on both projects and possibly collaborate with other teams as well.
