Last day at Blue Marsh for Team ABS! April 28, 2015

On our last day at Blue Marsh Lake, we got the opportunity to visit the control tower to see how the dam operated. We went into the tower and all the way to the bottom, 350 feet underneath the water. Here we learned exactly what each part of the dam did and how it contributed to helping the flooding of the Susquehanna Valley and parts of the Tulpehocken. We then spent the last hour and a half weeding and mulching the front of the ranger station making it look brand new again.

We really enjoyed our time volunteering at Blue Marsh Lake and look forward to visiting again in the future! We hope you all enjoyed following our posts, videos, and our journey!

Team ABS spends another day at Blue Marsh-April 16th, 2015

This past Thursday, we spent the morning at the visitors center in Blue Marsh.  Our job that day was to clean up the beds outside the center and re-mulch the area. We still had a couple more weeds to pull out on the back side of the center. We then had to open over 40 bags of mulch and spread them across the area to create the affect of the area looking brand new again! From when we first started to re-model the visitor center’s beds to now, it created such a difference and we can’t wait to complete the job. We will be finishing up the rest of the mulching soon! First Day at Blue Marsh- April 7th, 2015 (Team ABS)

Earlier this week we started our first day at Blue Marsh. We were in charge of pulling all the dead plants around the Blue Marsh Visitors Center. We were getting the plots ready for them to be re-mulched. We did a lot of trimming, raking, and removal of all dead items that we pulled. To get a better look at our service for Blue Marsh add us on Snap Chat  @absEACAP. Missed any of our stories? No worries, well be uploading all our snap stories to our website after every service day. Here’s our snap story from this week. Take a look!  Click on this link here: MOV_9949
