Doing this project was truly a lot of fun and we gained a lot of useful knowledge from it. We had a blast creating a brochure on rain barrels, a class presentation, a research paper, and a poster. This class really opened our minds on the environmental issues that are occurring in todays world.

The Rain Dancers – Presentation (April 27, 2016)
Yesterday our group gave our presentation about rain barrels and shared with the class the brochure we made. We also discussed our research topic and what we learned from doing this project. We have attached our presentation for anyone to see or if you would like to look at it again.
The Rain Dancers- Water Shortage Facts (April 20, 2016)
Water shortage is a big problem that we are facing today. Water shortage is the lack of sufficient available water resources needed to meet water needs within a specific region. Water has grown at more than twice the rate of population increase in the last century. It is estimated that by 2025 that 1.8 billion people will live in areas plagued by water scarcity with 2/3’s of the world’s population living in water-stressed regions as a result of use, growth, and climate change. if we don’t do something soon, we won’t be able to survive on Earth anymore
Here are some facts to think about:
1.) Only about 1% of the Earth’s water is available to drink.
2.) The average American uses about 140-170 gallons of water per day.
3.) It takes about 3.3 acre-feet of water to grow enough food for an average family for a year.
The Rain Dancers-Brochure (April 20, 2016)
This is the brochure that we created to hand out to others to give them an idea of what rain barrels are and how they can help with the water shortage problem we are facing today.
First Meeting
Today our group had our first meeting about rain barrels. We learned what they are used for and how they conserve water. Our group got an idea of how we can share information about rain barrels with people and how they can use them to help conserve water.
