A Prestigious Reflection

Prestige Worldwide teamed up with the city of Reading and Michelle Hnath to complete a service project that would help make the city of Reading cleaner and reduce the amount of pollution in the water. This project consisted of using stencils that allowed us to paint the phrase “PROTECT YOUR WATER, DRAINS TO RIVER” in both English and Spanish over storm drains. As a team, we painted this phrase over a total of 20 storm drains up and down Penn Street in Reading. As a team, we were all very pleased with the results of our stenciling and how great the phrases turned out. Throughout the process of the EACAP project, we have gained multiple skills and have had a lot of valuable experiences. As a group, we have also gained awareness of the problems associated with and the causes of ocean pollution firsthand in Reading and also through our own research online. After the completion of our stenciling session, we felt accomplished as we believe we have made a positive impact on the city of Reading and hopefully can persuade people to not litter in the storm drains that we have painted over. We have also gained valuable partnerships with the city of Reading and Michelle Hnath throughout the completion of the project and last but not least, we have gained friendships with each other that we would have never had if it weren’t for this EACAP project.

City of Reading Storm Drain Project – Prestige Worldwide

On Wednesday, April 11th, our team went into the city of Reading to complete the “hands-on” part of our EACAP project. We had a successful day. During several hours of work, we painted a total of 20 storm drains. We used stencils that read “PROTECT YOUR WATER, DRAINS TO RIVER” in English and Spanish. We had a fun time working on this project together and made a lot of memories while also doing a good deed in protecting our environment.

Meeting with our Organization

During the meeting with our organization, we discussed our approach to our EACAP project. Our organization showed us the pre-made stencil and painting supplies that we will be utilizing during our quest to keep sewers free of trash and pollution. We still have not made an exact date for our project, but we are still trusting the process.
