First Day of Community Service (TrailBlazers) 4/14/16

Last Friday (4/9/16) I (Patrick Bompartito) went to the trail to start helping with the clean up. We helped to clean up trash like bottles, plastic containers and wrappers and everything. What really amazed me was how far into the trail people went to dump things. The types of trash we found were things like a full sized bathroom sink, bike and car tires, mattresses and broken glass everywhere. The broken glass poses a threat to bikers on the bath and pedestrians alike. We did find a rope swing near the river which showed some hope of the area being used for recreation again instead of dumping. There was also a lot of graffiti on the walls which took away from the natural beauty of the area. I took some pictures of the trash we cleaned up and also the good and bad of the trail.
